So I’ve been trying out some new things recently as well as returning to some favourite themes. I am also preparing to launch an Etsy shop so have been building up some stock and preparing photographs – more on that when there’s news.
This painting is featured in the Acrylics section and this is a new style of painting for me which I really like. I have some more ideas so when I have time, I will hopefully be adding a few more like this.
I have also done my first proper palette knife painting – A View Towards the Hills – which is also in the Acrylics section. A really interesting learning curve and I’m keen to explore this some more.
I’ve been making lots of cards using a collage-style method which has been really fun and creates some effective results. These will be featuring in my Etsy shop at some point as well.
And after another visit to York this summer, I indulged my love of that city and my fixation with little snickets and ginnels by obsessively drawing Lady Peckett’s Yard but in lots of different ways, such as Lady Peckett’s Yard, looking down; Lady Peckett’s Yard, looking up (it’s a very different view) and Lady Peckett’s Yard in watercolour – so all very different pictures… yeah, ok. Not that different. But I love it, although Mad Alice Lane has one of the best names in the city and let’s face it – with place namess like Whip-Ma-Whop-Ma-Gate, Finkle Street and Little Peculiar Lane, that’s pretty cool!
These will be featuring under the Misc Media section on this website so be sure to check that out and if you would like to buy prints of any of the artwork on my website, please use the contact form and don’t forget to specify size and quantity and I will give you some quotes.
Look out for news on my Etsy shop and please feel free to make suggestions for paintings I could do, or better still, commission me to paint you something for vast amounts of money!
