Acrylic on acrylic paper. This was done for the monthly art group challenge in April on the theme of ‘Awakening’. I thought people would probably associate this with spring and do pictures of flowers opening and the world coming to life. I don’t like picking what seems to be the obvious choice, although to be honest, a dragon waking up was also pretty obvious to me but far more exciting. Never painted a dragon before and this was really fun to do. I’m actually pleased with this result for a first-time attempt; it was pretty much how I wanted it to look.
